Safe Catch’s Wild Mackerel in Olive Oil

Northeast Atlantic Mackerel are the most prized, with amazingly high levels of omega-3’s and clean protein they make an exceptionally smart choice for athletes, kids & pregnant women!

Founded on Care, Grounded in Science

Safe Catch’s inspired beginnings were brought to life by our founder’s care for his Mom, when she developed mercury poisoning from eating a daily regimen of tuna. As a scientist in training, Sean sprung into technical action, determined to prevent this from happening to other moms, infants, children, and everyone else.

Mercury Tested

We sustainably catch premium wild mackerel, then test each and every catch to a mercury limit over 6.6x lower than the FDA action limit, so that you can enjoy this nutritious superfood with confidence. Safe Catch Wild Mackerel are proven to meet Consumer Reports “Low Mercury” criteria set for pregnant and nursing women and young children. Safe Catch Wild Mackerel are also the only mackerel endorsed by the American Pregnancy Association. At Safe Catch, we test because we care.

Nothing Artificial Added, Ever

Carefully crafted pure ingredients make for amazing seafood that stands apart. We hand pack premium raw wild mackerel, skinless and boneless, into each can to retain vital Omega-3 oils and nutrients and then slow cook them to perfection. We don’t add any artificial fillers, preservatives, or GMO-Soy broth to our Wild Mackerel. Drain off oil to your liking and enjoy. We take pride in carefully preparing the best sardines nature has to offer, for you.

Sustainably Caught

Our Wild Mackerel is wild and sustainably caught without using FADs or long lines. We proudly follow the recommendations of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch® program.

    First Time Trying Mackerel!

    Paul

Wow, this was so good. Was going to make this like a tuna salad sandwich and ended up eating half of it right from the can. Surprisingly tasty!

    Great taste and amazing quality!

I bought this on Amazon as I love consuming Omega-3’s instead of taking Pills. I was blown away just by the quality when I opened the Mackerel Tin as it was very clean and didn’t smell as fishy as other Sardines and tuna that I eat regularly. I was turned onto this Brand as I have an auto-immune disorder and need to avoid dangerous toxins such as Mercury, and I will continue to buy it again just based on taste and quality alone. You truly get what you pay for!

Favorite Safe Catch Product! (and I've tried them all!)

    Erica

I didn’t think I would like Mackerel since I don’t like Mackerel in my sushi, but this was a whole different story. It’s butter, melt in your mouth. I eat it straight out of the can….
