Sardine Rillettes

Ingredients

  • 1 Tin of Safe Catch Wild Sardines in Olive Oil
  • 4 Oz. Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 2 Tbsp. Dried Minced Onion
  • 1-2 Tbsp. Fresh Snipped Chives
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Chopped Fresh Parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. Smoked Paprika
  • 1/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • Salt to Taste
  • Optional: Garnish with Lemon Zest and Fresh Herbs
  • Serve with Crackers, Bread, or Veggies

Instructions

  1. Begin by opening your tinned sardines and add the entire tin, including the oil to a mixing dish and use a fork to flake the sardines up into the oil until all broken apart and combined well.
  2. Add your softened cream cheese and use the fork again to combine the flaked sardines with the cream cheese until well combined.
  3. Mince your parsley and chives (or use dried if you don’t have fresh on hand).
  4. Add in your dried minced onion, chives, parsley, lemon juice, smoked paprika, cayenne, and salt and evenly combine.
  5. Scoop onto crackers or serve in a dip bowl with celery, cucumbers, or other veggies and finish with fresh lemon zest for a pop of bright flavor!

  • This show stopping, protein-packed appetizer can be served on crackers or with a baguette or keep this recipe keto and serve with veggies of your choice.
