Instructions

  1. Start by removing Safe Catch Sardines from their tins and placing them in a mixing bowl. Add in all other fish cake ingredients and oil from one tin.
  2. Once ingredients are combined, place fish cake batter into balls – 1 tbsp each and flatten into a patty. You should have 15-18 patties.
  3. Place patties on a lined baking sheet and place in the fridge to cool for 30 minutes.
  4. Once cooled, broil fish cakes for 5 minutes and then flip the patties to broil for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  5. While cakes are baking, prepare yogurt dipping sauce by mixing all ingredients and set in fridge to cool.
  6. When sardine cakes are done, let cook and enjoy with yogurt dipping sauce!

SERVING SUGGESTION

“Sardines are loaded with amazing nutrients, like protein, Omega-3 fats and vitamin D, and are such a quick and easy food to incorporate into your meals. I created this recipe to elevate the “traditional fish cake” into something your friends and family will rave over! It’s also super kid-friendly (just leave out the spicy sauce)! I introduced my son to sardines when he was about 6 months old, and they are one of the more frequent proteins he eats now! I choose to use Safe Catch Sardines because I know they undergo strict mercury testing to ensure a mercury level safe enough for kids and pregnant women to consume and are free of additives and fillers.”
